Thank You for Helping make this Chess Tournament Something Special

The Greater Peoria Open is held in the Spring of each year. The goal is to provide a high quality tournament with strong competition to allow club players from the central Illinois area to mix and play games with Masters and other strong players. A large prize fund is provided to draw top players. Last year saw a 4 way tie for first, including masters Pete Karagianis and Tim McEntee.. Players are divided into 2 Sections:

  • Anyone can play in the Open Section giving everyone a opportunity to play against a Master.
  • The Reserve Section is restricted to players rated 1400 or less to provide competitive games for everyone

2019 Greater Peoria Open

April 6th & 7th 2019

Description:

5 Round Swiss System in 2 Sections:
Open - All players of all strengths are welcome.
Reserve - Only available for players with Ratings 1400 and under.
All players play all rounds. If there is an odd number, one player will receive a full point bye. Player initiated byes are for half-points only. The tournament initiated bye will normally go to the lowest rated player in the lowest score group unless that pairing conflicts with other pairing rules. If you must quit the tournament for any reason, please notify the Tournament Director so that the other player who would be paired with you is not inconvenienced by not having a game. Cross round and Cross section games may be provided at the convenience of the Tournament Director and the players involved. Such games would not affect your tournament score but the result would be rated.

Time Control:

Game 90 with 30 second increment
(if an increment capable clock is not available, set the clock for 30 second delay instead)

How do I set my clock for Game 90/Increment 30?
